My flat racing season 2016

Confessional, Limato and Time Test

So, as we come to the end of the season, how have I done betting wise and what have been the highlights? Well, I ended up with an overall profit of 5% on all bets. Admittedly, if I always bet as my blog tips suggest, I would probably have done better. The blog sensibly often suggests each way betting whilst I tire of that personally and tend to place win bets. I’ve been a little unlucky with the big field ‘heritage’ handicaps when I bet each way. For six in a row my selection finished 5th when 4th would have won good money! It was brilliant to see my first Classic this year, Galileo Gold winning the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. I also went on Dewhurst day when Brave Anna gave me my biggest win at 33-1. Newmarket was brilliant and, the fact that I accidentally went twice in its 350th Anniversary year was both special and a fluke. Here are a few facts….

2014-15 Jumps season….2% profit
2015 Flat season….25% profit
2015-16 Jumps season….10% profit
2016 Flat season….5% profit
So, no losses overall as yet!

2016 Flat Season

22 race meetings attended including 5 at both Catterick and York

Favourite ‘live’ races….Postponed winning the Juddmonte and Mecca’s Angel taking the Nunthorpe again ahead of Limato at York
Favourite ‘tv’ race….Limato’s staggering July Cup win against such a top class field
Horses I’ve followed….Limato, Confessional, Heaven’s Guest, Simple Verse, Time Test etc. and, of course, Dubai Dynamo
Race tracks attended….Catterick, York, Newcastle, Carlisle, Ripon, Thirsk, Redcar, Newmarket
